Our Mission

To recognise the achievement of Arctic Explorer John Rae
To research and identify the most appropriate option for the conservation and development of the Hall of Clestrain
To appoint a Project Manager to lead on grant applications and the successful renovation/development of the buildings and their environs
To work in partnership to grow and share an understanding of the Arctic through education, research, knowledge transfer and cultural awareness
To enhance community pride, wellbeing and facilities in the Orphir area
To ultimately create an internationally significant visitor centre dedicated to the legacy of John Rae and Arctic exploration

LEADER funding was secured to help us achieve the aims.
