Become a Trustee of The John Rae Society
The John Rae Society (JRS) is looking for new Trustees to help lead our exciting Hall of Clestrain projects and develop the charity.
Our mission is to educate people about the pioneering Arctic explorer John Rae’s remarkable life and achievements, and to celebrate Orkney’s rich heritage. We aim to transform his childhood home into a world-renowned visitor attraction and community resource, sharing John Rae’s remarkable place in the history of Orkney and Artic exploration.
The need: We are seeking up to six trustees, collaborative individuals dedicated to public education and heritage preservation, proactive and engaged in Board discussions. The commitment is 1-2 days per month, including Board meetings and an annual strategy awayday in Orkney. There is also an opportunity to participate in working groups.
