Our Constitution

It was necessary to adopt a revised Constitution for the Society.

Prepared as part of the Governance Review in 2025, it brings the Constitution up to date with current requirements for charities; simplifies the charity’s purposes; provides for holding virtual meetings (post Covid and considering the international membership of the Society); and clarifies functions and roles of trustees and officers. The revised Constitution better meets the expectations of funders and grant makers for good governance arrangements.

The revised constitution was adopted at an extraordinary meeting of members on 27th August 2025 and details of the amendments were sent to the Office of the Scottish Charities Regulator.
