Fire, shelters, navigation essentials and practical lifesaving knowledge for Scottish outdoors, including the right gear, weather and route planning. Learn:
- Fire making techniques including friction, tinders, woods selection plus how to cook without wood (or stove)
- Emergency and improvised shelters for Scottish upland habitats
- Essential navigation principles to keep you safe.
Come equipped for the adventure:
- Bring own lunch and drink plus snacks
- Dress for the weather. Be prepared to be outdoors all day in possibly wet and windy weather conditions. Gloves, hat and change of clothes important
- Good idea but not essential to bring own gear, clothing, compass to compare and discuss merits and learn how best to use.


Who is this session for:
Ideal for those keen to expand their skills to explore the wilder places of Scotland, to be safer and more competent in the outdoors.
