We were delighted to receive birthday wishes for John Rae’s 210th birthday from renowned explorer, celebrity and John Rae Society patron Michael Palin. In the video clip Palin talks about the bravery of John Rae who told the truth of what had happened to the Franklin expedition at a time when others wanted to ‘cover them in glory’. The Society will be celebrating ’21 Decades’ of Sir John Rae with many events happening from September 30.
